Naveen Kaushik — who plays the character Donga alongside Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna in the blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar — has responded to a recent video by content creator Dhruv Rathee that criticised the film as “propaganda.” The Times of India
Rathee’s video argued that Dhurandhar promotes a misleading narrative and called it “false propaganda,” claiming the film presents itself as being inspired by real events and uses controversial elements such as real footage from the 26/11 attacks. The Indian Express
Speaking to SCREEN, Kaushik rejected Rathee’s assertion and suggested that the YouTuber’s criticism was more about taking advantage of the movie’s success for attention. He said Rathee is “an opinionated person” and clearly stated, “I am associated with the film, I don’t agree with him, obviously.” Adding a touch of sarcasm, Kaushik remarked, “He got some views because of us, congratulations.” The Times of India
His comments reflect a wider defence from the Dhurandhar team and fans, many of whom continue to support the film amid debate over its themes. Despite the controversy, Dhurandhar continues to earn strong box office numbers and is nearing a ₹900 crore global tally. The Times of India
